Russ McKnight on New Boosters

Mij, Onad, and Lord Ogre agreed the future of our game lies in the production of Fan cards. Reprinting and licensing costs are too tremendous to even consider this, even if we persuaded the distributors to handle the product. I believe the licensing and marketing wizard John Danovich is stated at the World s of Spellfire Seminar this year that a 55 card starter reprint of Fourth Edition would cost the consumer between 35 and fifty dollars to break even. Anyone who still says they would buy enough of these starters to make Spellfire turn a profit again is lying through their teeth (this is a family news list). This IS the way it will be going. Lord Ogre has already posted on this list plans for a sticker booster. Now, I know Ogre was willing to edit my Ravenloft Chase Set Fan set, so I'm assuming he has plans for an editing panel for these cards. We will see in the coming months.

I made out of my love for the game and the cost of my own wallet a Fourth Promo card for this year's Gen Con. It is called 'Eye For An Eye' after my Ravenloft Chase Card of the same name. I have a limited number of copies left. I will be filling in requests for those who didn't get one at the Gen Con Convention, but attended. Those of you should respond to me on the other E-mail Address found on my business card given out at the Seminar and the convention. Everyone else can request a copy from me by sending me PERSONALLY your name and mailing address. They will be shipped first come, first served, and while my supplies last. Those of you who don't get one can copy the Ravenloft version off my website listed below. I encourage everyone to create their own cards and share them with other players of our fabulous game. It is the only way we will every hope to gain the attention of WotC and Hasbro into convincing them that Spellfire is a sellable product again. I will offer help where I can.

Sincerely,

~Russ "Beserker!" McKnight
